Band members, who were guitarless Wednesday, said they would perform at the park next summer.
The band worked with the park to rearrange the song. While the original was more than seven and a half minutes long, the ride will only last four minutes and 45 seconds.
Also, the song will be played in surround sound, instead of the original stereo.
"It will evoke fantastic memories for countless Moody Blues fans, and at the same time introduce a whole new generation of people to an incredible style of music," park CEO Steven Goodwin said.
The 140-acre park, under construction off U.S. 501, had previously announced that its signature ride would be set to Led Zeppelin's song "Whole Lotta Love." The last section of another roller coaster, dubbed "Midnight Rider," was put in place Tuesday, a Hard Rock Park official said.
The $400 million park aims to open in April.
The three members of Moody Blues, who are in their 60s, said they would donate to the park their only remaining intact Mellotron, the instrument used to create some of the orchestral sounds in their songs.
